Our Bristol site have an exciting opportunity for a Engagement Coordinator to join their friendly team on a full time 12 month Fixed-term contract basis.
The Engagement Coordinator is to support the Senior Leadership Team regarding engagement and retention for both new and existing colleagues. You will be involved from the colleague’s initial on-boarding, ensuring the colleague receives an exceptional first impression and continued all round great experience. Engagement Coordinators will develop and manage engagement initiatives and incentives to improve communication, colleague engagement and job satisfaction to support making Culina the employer of choice.
Key Duties of a Engagement Coordinator
- Owning colleague engagement at all stages of the colleague life cycle for Warehouse, Transport and Stock and Administration.
- Initiate the recruitment process for all potential new hires via Smarts
- Conduct pre-screening of candidates within Smarts to the agreed selection criteria
- Contact candidates to discuss the role in more details
- Invite candidate for interview, if suitable
- Set up interview.
- Lead all new starter engagement and inclusion process:
- Pre start call for induction
- Pre start call for 1st shift
- Ensure Docusign and OneHR registration completed
- Welcome on induction / issue clockcards
- Daily Check-in on 1st shift
- Weekly check ins Weeks 2 – 4
- Post Probationary Review check-in
- Identify and suggest improvements in the all-round new starter experience utilising the data you obtain from the check in with colleagues.
- Review induction process and recommend inefficiencies in process – training, OneHR on-boarding.
- Ensure all colleagues are trained and have access to new platforms OneHR, HapiBenefits, Aviva DigiCare.
- Build trusting relationships with colleagues and actively seek feedback and escalate any issues to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Support the HR Advisor’s to promote the provision of benefits awareness material - to increase new and existing colleagues’ awareness of the Company’s benefits and how to access them ie. Employee Assistance Programme, Pension Briefings.
- Developing and Implement effective site-wide internal communication strategies capturing all roles and colleagues ie.TV Screens/Noticeboards, Newsletters, Colleague of the month.
- Collaborating with HR and Managers to coordinate, arrange and match in-house training opportunities with appropriate colleague’s i.e. on-site training initiatives, rise programme, D&A training.
- Accountable for developing and implementing innovative engagement initiatives, celebrating all cultures initiatives and events ie. Colleague Charity Events, Mental Health Day.
- Organising and ensuring regular structured I&C meetings with Site Leadership Team and I&C Co-ordinators are conducted and outcomes communicated (You Said / We Did).
- Work with Senior Leadership Team and HR Function KPI’s to measure and demonstrate the end to end engagement process is successful:

- Number of starters, leavers and turnover
- Reasons for leaving
- Improved employee survey results
- Reduction in number of vacancies
- Social media feedback

- Feedback to Senior Leadership Team on general areas of concern within the depot and recommendations for improvements.
- Engage with anyone who is exiting the business to obtain constructive feedback, collate responses and relay to site Senior Leadership and HRBP.
- Hold regular review meetings with HR Advisor and Senior Leadership on a monthly basis to analysis of the main reasons for people leaving the Company within first year of employment – identifying trends, themes etc (using exit interview data) and discuss plans of improvement.
- Support local site survey initiatives and the Group bi-annual Colleague Survey to ensure effective and efficient participation from all colleagues.
- Management of the refer a friend scheme payments, ensure JCCR is raised accordingly with HR Advisor.
- Conduct weekly headcount review by shift to ensure recruitment supports operational requirements and maintain equal balance across the shifts.
