Our Hilsea site have an exciting opportunity for a Driver Trainer to join our team on a full time, permanent basis.

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience. 

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm. 

The purpose of a Driver Trainer is to ensure drivers are assessed before employment, trained in line with company policy and standards from commencement of employment and throughout their career. To support where practicable within our site compliance team ensuring standards are met and exceeded wherever possible.

Key Duties of a Driver Trainer:

  • Deliver all aspects of training to the drivers, including vehicle and trailer specific familiarisation, SAFED training and Driver CPC.
  • Assess potential new drivers, both permanent and agency.
  • Plan and deliver the induction plan for new drivers.
  • Ensure training records are kept up to date and files are maintained.  
  • Update and brief SSOW processes and associated documentation to the drivers.
  • Ensure drivers are familiar with existing equipment and that drivers are trained and proficient on new equipment when purchased or hired in the future.
  • Ensure the drivers licence entitlements are valid as part of pre-employment process.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Tachomaster system including Risk Profiling.
  • Review drivers infringements, arrange re-training when necessary.
  • Work with the Operations and Transport Manager to review any motor vehicle accidents, ensuring root cause analysis is carried out and arranging re-training when needed.
  • Maintain communication between the Drivers and the operational teams to ensure all training requirements are achieved and policies are adhered to.
