Our friendly team at our Markham Vale site are now recruiting for an experienced Driver Trainer to join their team on a full time permanent basis!

As the Driver Trainer you will be responsible for delivering driver related training, evaluate and monitor the impact of training on Great Bear Drivers.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 6am-5pm.

Salary: £42,298 per annum

Key Duties of a Driver Trainer

• Deliver training relating to drivers’ hours / tachographs / WTD rules and regulations to new and existing drivers.
• Maintain up to date training records and be proactive in identifying training needs.
• Update Great Bear Distribution Drivers’ Manual as and when required.
• Deliver manual handling and refresher training.
• Deliver training regarding SAFED/ Fuel Economy and Defensive Driving.
• Monitor the standard of Great Bear driving and provide information, advice and guidance to departments such as H&S, Transport and HR.
• Liaise with other personnel such as Transport Manager, Transport Planners and operations desk staff coordinators as necessary in order to maximise benefits for all training provided.
• Report on (both verbal and written) the ability and performance of drivers following all driver training courses undertaken, using counselling and coaching techniques as required.
• Use Microlise performance statistics to proactively manage the driver’s performance.
• Support the induction process.
• Ensure the transport department is fully compliant with all training requirements.
