We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our depot in Wentworth Park, Barnsley to support our General Haulage and Trunking Operations.  This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis and we have a variety of shift patterns including days (between 04:00 – 07:00 starts) and Nights (between 16:00 – 19:00 starts) available working any 5 days from 7. Weekend work may be required depending on demand.

Pay Rates:

We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £15.15 to £18.96 per hour, depending on shift – giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

• Mon-Fri Days – £15.15 per hour
• Mon-Fri Night Shift – £16.35 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Day Shift – £18.15 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Night Shift – £18.65 per hour
• Bank Holidays – £18.96 per hour. 

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance, and £25 per night out tax-free allowance (if applicable)

Driver Responsibilities:

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Collections from Stores to load out to Distribution Centres 
• Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
• Trunking Opportunities available depending on availability 
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver’s hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.
