We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our depot in Carlisle to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• General haulage operations using curtain-side trailers
• Delivering to RDCs, distribution centres and retail stores across the region
• Store collections for delivery to factories and distribution centres
• Occasional loading and unloading of cages as part of store delivery activities
• Completing daily vehicle checks and transport documentation
• Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and professionalism
• Working closely with the Transport Team to ensure efficient service delivery
• Adhering to Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive and Tachograph legislation at all times

Pay Rates

Day Shift Rates

• Monday to Friday Days: £14.60 per hour
• Saturday & Sunday Days: £17.60 per hour
• Bank Holidays: £18.41 per hour

Night Shift Rates

• Monday to Friday Nights: £15.80 per hour
• Saturday & Sunday Nights: £18.10 per hour
• Bank Holidays: £18.41 per hour

Additional Allowances

• £5 tax-free meal allowance per shift
