As a Transport Shift Manager, you will manage the day to day running of the Transport operation, together with motivating and managing a large team of direct reports (including Transport Operators, Drivers & Shunters).

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08.00-16.30

Key Duties of a Transport Shift Manager:

• Ensure all aspects of Transport legal compliance and Health & Safety are maintained and that deliveries are made on time and at the right standard.
• Operate within budget/KPI levels of the site and strive to exceed these expectations.
• Manage and investigate all delivery issues, communicating effectively to both internal and external clients as required.
• Involvement in the recruitment and training of new starters – operations staff and drivers.
• Maintain regular reviews and develop Personal Development Plans for all team members to maximise their contributions to the department.
• Conduct safety conversations with all colleagues to engage and raise awareness of Health & Safety.
• Review and conduct risk assessments of the site, delivery points and collection points and complete regular work place inspections.
• Ensure full adherence to all statutory and legal requirements.
• Manage the team’s performance in line with Drivers Hours, WTD and MPG KPI’s.
